How soon should I schedule a consultation?
Six months is usually adequate, although if you are getting married in the more popular months such as June, July or August,  I would suggest scheduling a consultation as soon as you have your venue secured and colors selected (which usually means dresses bought).

What is the average cost of wedding flowers?
Hopper Flowers has designed weddings of all sizes - from $400 on up. It all depends on the budget & desires of the bridal couple. The factors involved include the size of the wedding party, amount and style of ceremony and reception decorations, and what flowers are used. Some flowers and styles are more economical than others and I will be happy to suggest alternatives that fit your budget.

What should I bring to the wedding consultation?
Hopper Flowers wants to create a spectacular and memorable event for you. Pictures that depict what flowers you like are extremely helpful. If you can, bring a photo of your dress as well as swatches of the bridesmaids' dress fabric to coordinate colors. Bring your own ideas, notes or sketches of whatever inspires you!

Ceremony:
* Date, Time and location including address and phone number
* Wedding coordinator’s name and phone number
* Any flower restrictions
* Aisle length and number of pews or chairs
* List of wedding party, relatives and others who will receive flowers

Photos:
* Name and phone number of your photographer
* Time and location of pictures

Reception:
* Location including full address and phone number
* The time your reception is scheduled to start
* Set-up time allowed if there is a prior event
* Name of caterer/coordinator and their phone number
* Name of bakery and and phone number of contact person
* Style and size of your cake

The more information you can provide the better I will be prepared to offer creative suggestions.

Our event is on a holiday - will that be a problem?
Since Hopper Flowers is not a retail shop and does only weddings, parties and other special events, I am not affected by the holiday rush of Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or any other holiday!

What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment by check is preferred, although Hopper Flowers can now accept online credit card payment through PayPal.

Who wears flowers?
Boutonnieres for men:
Groom and groomsmen, ushers, ring bearers, fathers and grandfathers. Boutonnieres are also often chosen for readers, musicians, escorts, hosts, officiants or other family members.

Corsages for women:
Mothers, grandmothers, personal attendants, readers, musicians, hostesses, cake cutters, and people who hand out programs usually wear corsages. Mothers could also carry a small nosegay or flowers for their hair.

What are some pricing guidelines and what determines the price?
I try my best to provide the most reasonable prices and to work with a wide range of budgets. The price of wedding flowers depends on type of flower, quantity, size, style and seasonal availability. These are some general pricing guidelines. Most bridal bouquets are in the $100-$170 range and bridesmaids in the $50 - $90 range. I can make bouquets larger or smaller. Boutonnieres usually are $7.50-$12.50 and corsages usually are $10 – $25.

How can Hopper Flowers offer lower prices compared to a regular floral retail shop?
I have a studio workshop out of my home in Renton which means you'll pay less overhead.  I buy from the same wholesalers and growers as do the custom floral shops so the quality is also not an issue. I have worked in high-end, fast paced floral shops for 9 years so I have the same knowledge and skill but I can most often offer a better price as well as my undivided attention to your special day!
